FROM OCTOBER 14 TO 18 2009

Frankfurt International Book Fair

The world’s most important event for the publishing sector, to be held between the 14th and 18th of October, will include a stand from Galicia. The Regional Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Xunta de Galicia and the Galician Publishers’ Association will be presenting the most important new releases from the region in the German city, and will be helping to establish contacts and generate business opportunities for Galician companies in the sector.

FROM OCTOBER 7 TO 9 2009

Líber, the International Book Fair in Madrid

This year, Líber returns to Madrid. Between the 7th and 9th of October, the Ifema trade fair centre will bring together the main publishers and agents working in the sector in Spanish-speaking countries. With Russia as the guest nation, the twenty-seventh edition of Líber will feature 700 publishers from sixteen countries. Galicia will have its own stand and programme of activities, organised by the Regional Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Xunta de Galicia, in collaboration with the Galician Publishers’ Association (AGE).

FROM MAY 29 TO JUNE 1 2009

The 27th Comic Fair in Barcelona (Ficomic)

Galicia will be occupying a special place at the 2009 edition of the Comic Fair, as guest of honour. The promotional stand of the Regional Ministry of Culture and Tourism will be presenting one hundred publications by Galician authors, and two exhibitions that offer a panorama of comic production in Galicia. The Regional Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Xunta de Galicia, Roberto Varela, will be taking part in the opening ceremony of the event.
